Overhaul Program

Project Description:

The project includes a complete overhaul of the 121 Hi-Speed Line rail cars. The mechanical and electric systems will be renewed and the interiors replaced. Originally 75 of the cars were built by The Budd Co. while the remaining 46 cars were built by Canadian Vickers and delivered in 1980. This is the first major overhaul for these vehicles since the line opened in 1969.

LKG Scope of Work:

LKG was retained the engineering consultant, to provide document control services. LKG responsibilities include:

  • Maintain document control tracking databases for correspondence control, drawing control, submittal and CDRL tracking using Document Management System (DMS) software.
  • Process vehicle program & project submittals, CDRLs and prepare reports of outstanding CDRLs and actions
  • Conduct periodic quality assurance audits on all document files and databases
  • Assist with the issuance of design review documents and the distribution of baseline documents
